Ashling v Westbourne

20th June2010

Ashling 112 all out, Westbourne 113-5

Westbourne won by five wickets

Ashling slid from 32 for none to 45 for six in what seemed like no time. A decent knock of 37 from the semi-rehabilitated Nic Loubser got us off to a solid start, but two Cookes, Wentzel, Colley and Ballingal formed a procession from, and then to the pavilion. Steve Harvey (me, 11) held up one end for a bit which allowed Chris Johnson to make 33. Rupert Hoare was fourth top scorer with 8, but we were grateful even to post 112.

Tom Ballingal took 3 for 12 to keep us in the hunt, but in truth once Rob Dicken had scored 30, Bone's 45 not out saw Westbourne comfortably home with time to spare. At least there's football on the telly.
