Ashling v Salthill 25th July2010 Ashling won by 108 runs Ashling extended their winning streak to four games with this comprehensive victory. Nic Loubser struggled uncharacteristically to reach 41 on an unpredictable wicket, but fortunately this was a day when other batsmen were running into form. Chris Cranna played steadily for his 23, and Fergus MacLehose (13), Rob Lawrence (15) and Simon Cross (15) all made useful contributions. The batting performance of the day though was skipper Paul Colley's who hit a rapid 48 including eight fours, and hewas unlucky to be brilliantly caught going for the boundary which would have completed a half-century. 194 was a stiff target, and Salthill never looked like getting it. Sinbad Fawcett knocked back opener James' off stump for 5 and Fergus sent Almack back for 12. Steve Harvey's three wickets in an over (3-11) had Salthill reeling and although Nottage (20) tried to make a game of it two wickets each from Lawrence (2-14), Fawcett (2-22) and Hillier (2-10) ensured that victory could not be postponed for long.
