Old Hambledonians v Ashling 5th June 2011 Match Drawn Hambledonians were keen to bat second which raised suspicions that they would go for the bore-draw, and sadly this proved to be the case. A big innings of 82 from Tom Ballingal was the highlight of the afternoon. Tom's innings included four sixes and ten fours. Nic Loubser's 23 and Paul Colley's 26 not out were the other major contributions with Fergus MacLehose disappointing his legions of fans by holing out on the boundary for 14. Ian King made a welcome return to the Ashling line-up and faced two balls, one of which was stroked away for a majestic single. Ashling used eight bowlers in the pursuit of victory, but after the first over which went for ten, Hambledonians lost interest in anything other than digging in for the draw, which they ultimately succeeded in doing. Yawn.
