Ashling v Chidham and Hambrook 27th June 2010 Ashling won by 69 runs Make no mistake, this was the strongest Hawks side to play at Ashling since their reformation. They were happy to put Ashling in with a view to chasing a total. Loubser holed out to the only legside fielder on the boundary. The bloke didn't even have to move his feet! A familiar flimsiness in the middle order manifested itself once more and we were 23-2. But wait, what's this? It's Paul Colley with his new bat, hardly touched by a ball in three innings. He's hitting the ball. Fours and everything! Only Fergus MacLehose's huge-hitting 65 and Steve Harvey's heroic 1 not out could eclipse his 54. The best was saved for the Hawks' innings though. Tom Ballingal ripped through the team clean bowling five with the stumps repeatedly springing out of the ground like surface-to-air missiles. He finished with 6 for 15 and it is unlikely that will be bettered this season. Justin Dyssell played very well for his 56 and was unlucky to be on the losing side, but the day belonged to Ashling.
