Ashling v Tangmere

Sunday 29th June  2008

Ashling 140 (Loubser 33, Ballingal 33), Tangmere 141-4 (Shaul 2-17)

Tangmere won by 6 wickets

As has been the case on a number of occasions, Justin Murray proved the difference between the two sides on a windy day with a lively wicket.  His 72 saw Tangmere home with Blow's 39 being another nail in the Ashling coffin.

Ashling batted first and Loubser's 33 looked to have been the major contribution of the day, with useful support from Cranna (13) and Mason (19.) Tom Ballingal's late entry with 33 gave the Ashling total a more competitive look about it.

Ballingal (8-3-9-0) and Shaul (8-4-17-2) kept it tight, but as Murray looked more and more at home it was clear that Ashling would need a bowling miracle.  The second line of bowlers could not make the breakthrough and Tangmere were home with five overs to spare.
